Prism

Prismatic optics (prism scope) are a type of sighting optic that uses a solid glass prism instead of a traditional system of multiple lenses to create a magnified and correctly oriented image. This prism replaces several optical components, allowing prism scopes to be more compact, more durable, and noticeably sharper than conventional riflescopes with similar low magnification. Prismatic optics are used where fast target acquisition, a crisp reticle, and reliability in a small body are essential — ideal for assault rifles, PCC/SMG platforms, or airsoft AEG and GBB rifles. A prismatic optic uses a glass prism instead of a complex lens system, making it a small, rugged, and extremely sharp alternative to classic riflescopes. Thanks to an etched reticle, it remains fully functional even without a battery and is suitable for short- to medium-range shooting. How does a prismatic optic work?

Inside the optic is a glass prism (e.g., Porro or Roof prism) that:

bends light and flips the image into the correct orientation,
replaces several lenses, reducing the overall size of the optic,
provides a very sharp image thanks to the rigid optical design.

Unlike a red dot sight, a prism scope does not rely solely on an LED dot — it has an etched reticle, visible even without illumination.
