GLS® (Grip Lock System) is a patented retention mechanism by Safariland that secures the pistol inside the holster using an internal lock activated by a natural grip. When drawing, simply grabbing the pistol correctly allows the middle finger to automatically release the locking mechanism. There is no need to search for a thumb button or overcome the resistance of a passive retention system. The system was developed for duty and professional use, where a combination of safety and fast, intuitive draw without unnecessary movement is essential.

Airsoft brands such as WoSporT (models GB-34 / GB-35) or FMA (holster 579) offer holsters inspired by the GLS® system. They replicate the principle of grip-activated retention, but they are not original licensed Safariland products. Materials and tolerances are adapted for airsoft use, meaning they are designed for carrying lightweight gas or electric pistols rather than real firearms in professional duty scenarios. For regular gameplay, training, or MilSim events, these replicas are fully sufficient, providing secure retention and fast draw. However, it is important to note that they are not certified equipment for armed forces use. We have GLS-style airsoft holsters in stock at ANAREUS CZ.
