FMC (Fully Multi-Coated) refers to fully multi-layer coating of optical lenses in riflescopes, binoculars, or red dot sights. This type of treatment ensures that all optical surfaces — i.e., all lenses in contact with light — are treated with multiple anti-reflective layers. The result is higher light transmission, brighter image, and reduced glare. You can find FMC riflescopes on our e-shop.

How Does FMC Work?
Each glass surface in an optical system causes some light reflection, which leads to loss of brightness and contrast. Multi-layer FMC coating minimizes this effect by reducing reflectivity and increasing light transmission. Compared to basic optics, FMC lenses provide sharper, brighter, and more contrast-rich images — especially noticeable in low-light conditions.
Advantages of FMC Optics
Where FMC Is Used
FMC coatings are found in quality riflescopes, magnified red dot sights, binoculars, and spotting scopes. In both airsoft and sport shooting, it’s popular among brands such as Vector Optics, Vortex, Primary Arms, and Hawke.
Note: The term “multi-coated” does not mean the same as “fully multi-coated” — only FMC guarantees that all optical surfaces are fully treated with a multi-layer coating.
