Climashield® APEX

Climashield® APEX is a high-performance synthetic insulation used in military, outdoor and tactical clothing. It ranks among the most efficient thermal insulation materials in the world, offering excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, outstanding compressibility and the ability to retain heat even in wet conditions. The technology was developed by Climashield® (USA), a supplier for the U.S. Armed Forces — which is why APEX is commonly found in gear designed for extreme environments (ECWS). It is also used by brands such as Helikon-Tex (e.g., the YUKON, Wolfhound or Swagman Roll jackets) due to its superior insulation performance compared to standard synthetic fills. How does Climashield® APEX work?

Continuous filaments – unlike standard insulation, APEX uses one-piece continuous fibers that do not break, shift or collapse.
High loft – the fiber structure forms numerous air pockets that effectively trap heat.
Moisture resistance – even when wet, the material continues to insulate, which is a major advantage over down.
